So, I’ve been a little quiet on the blog front lately. There’s a reason for that. If you’ve been following my blog you may remember that one of the reason’s I’m now at the Rittman United Methodist Church is to begin a new contemporary worship service.
Well, the time is almost here.
This Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. we will be coming together as the body of Christ to praise and worship God at our first Sunday Evening Connexions Service.
This is a big step for the Rittman community and one that I am very excited about. I will also admit that with less than a week left I’m wondering what all I’m forgetting about. I think we have the bases covered. Of course, the biggest base is God and Prayer – everything is based on that and without that nothing is possible.
So, if you are looking for a place to worship or would just like to support this ministry then let me officially invite you to head out to Rittman, Ohio this Sunday at 6:00 pm and join us as we worship our awesome Creator and come together as the body of Christ to hear his Word proclaimed.
If you can’t make it or are too far away I would ask one favor – can you pray for this ministry. I would appreciate prayers for the leadership, the volunteers and especially for those in the community that may walk through our doors on Sunday evening. May God’s truth be proclaimed and may the hearts and minds of those in attendance be open to hear the Gospel.
Well, at least for a day and a half. You see my parents are about to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary on the 21st (want to hear something cool – Mom’s birthday is the 19th, Dad’s is the 20th – Mom’s a day older than Dad).
In honor of that they are going to be going to a place called Tara – as in “Gone With The Wind”.

It looks like a pretty amazing place – you can check it out over on their website. Each room is themed and they’ve got a restaurant called Ashley’s Gourmet Dining Room with a full seven course meal!!
The cool part for Beth and I is that they are taking us along (and yes, we have separate rooms). Beth and I will be staying in “The Carolinas” Room. So, Beth and I are gearing up for a nice couple of days at a beautiful getaway eating seven course of food we normally wouldn’t eat, enjoying a beautiful room, sleeping in a fantastic room, celebrating 40 years of marriage with my parents and relaxing without the hustle and bustle of stomping feet and screaming children!
I’ll try and take some pictures and blog on Sunday about it so you can all live vicariously through me! Have a fantastic weekend and I’ll see you all on Sunday.
One final reminder that tonight is the free Shaun Groves concert. In case you were wondering what I mean when I say free – that means no admission charge, no cover charge, no drink minimum (yes – that was a joke), nada, zilch, zip. You come, you hear some music, you hear some speaking, you enjoy your self and you leave. You may decide to act on something you heard, maybe buy a CD, maybe you’ll decide to save a child’s life through sponsorship with Compassion International – but that’s your decision alone.
So, be there tonight – 7:00 p.m. at 195 Broad Street – the Wadsworth United Methodist Church.
So, last night Taylor was at a friend’s house for a sleepover and Beth was over at a girlfriend’s house so I decided it was a good opportunity to have a little Daddy/Daughter time. We decided to get dressed up and head out on a Daddy/Daughters Date night. We had a lot of fun … here’s a little video I put together of the night.
